Today the 28th , October ..is the national day for no smoking... so i am asking all our smokers colleagues to try quitting ...it is not hard if u determine bcmf/power.gif ...and we will support u...i know it is Ramadan and somkers number should be reduced but still i can see alot of smokers inside our college...i am not going through the classical talk about disadvantages and those things...it is pretty well obvious....but i can tell that some of the smokers do want to quit ...but they just can't ...and it is not (3eb)...it is not easy as i can tell...and that is why there r many ways and techniques ..they can use them...and again they need their friends help bcmf/60.gif ..

I wonder if we have any smokers here in the forum smile.gif ...i think we have...guys tell us why ,when and how did u start to smoke?? I think the smoking issue is very important.. and really getting global in our college society...i mean i notied some of the new freshmen are smoking...i know they r old enough .... but still it is annoying...i wish the college put some restrictions on that issue...i know it would be against freedom ...but still smoking is affecting the freedom of the non smokers mo? wink.gif biggrin.gif

waiting for smokers stories... ohmy.gif ..and non smokers comments... smile.gif

salam...

3ashat eedak Yezen, it's a great thing to do.

I encourage my friend and brother Ali Mohammed Al-Azzawi to stop smoking, or at least reduce it...
Also all our friends who do smoke.

I think talking about it will help, inshalla.

yezen ... i don't think the no. of the smokers will be ever reduced .... coz .. as you see the doctors and medical students for example smoke even in the hospital which is a place where it says: NO SMOKING ... so how do you even hope to quite ?

outside iraq in the european countries , they started to fight smoking first by making some places into non smoking places like rest. and hosp. and and and .. then they are not allowed to smoke in their cars and the last thing i knew was they inhibited smoking in some streets in some countries ! ...

and all of this is accompanied by support of the governments like to raise the cegerette's price ! ! ! and to allow only the good ciggerettes to be saled !

hope we'll get there someday .. but still i don't think we can be that now .. lol ..(basameeer ya smokers ! )

Hi Yezen,

Thanx for bringing up this topic, I do support it much, in fact there is also a non smoking day in the World Health Organization agenda, they have cards to design on that day and certain activities.

It is a matter of government right, and headquarters in hospitals, all right...but what if we talk to those!??

I mean we are Iraqi citizens, we are not 2nd degree citizens or any...what's so scary about it!?

I believe we can try, if we really really want to. Maybe when holiday comes we can put some time for that....

Good Suggestion Yezen, I encourage you totally...sorry for late reply. bcmf/power.gif

well yezen ,i really hate the smoke and never try it except one or two times (only to say that i try)so am with u 100%

but in the same time i think its a matter of liberty so u cant force ur opinions on others (even if that was in their own interest) bcmf/kiss.gif

well Sinan smile.gif ...you know what ...for me ,and as a non-smoker...I think it is my liberty that is been taken mad.gif when I am being forced to be a passive smoker everywhere ,in the streets, in the college and even in hospitals halls....so tell them to quit that or else ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ....

bcmf/clap.gif I am really very glad to read this topic Yezan ... although somewhat late , but in my opinion I think smoking should be definetely prohibited within the vicinity of our college .Its an ethical subject for me that the medical students should keep themsleves away from smoking and never deal with it ... if they couldn't manage to do that then they should leave the college and seek other one where there is no relation to medicine ...
I have something which i'm proud of that I always like to tell which is " i have never tried and cigarette in my whole life, and i have no intention to try it " bcmf/power.gif ...
Its a nice feeling that I like others to have ...
TY for the topic Yezen... and good luck for all our smoking colleagues to have the power to quit...

wella very good for u ammoory bcmf/thmbup.gif ...it is really a wonderful feeling wink.gif ... I know alot of people have tried it including me smile.gif...

but what is really disappointing is seeing smokers failing to quit even for a short period bcmf/thmbdn.gif ...that's why i think it is better and easier to decrease the number of new smokers rather than increasing number of quitters... still the number of smokers need to be work on... wink.gif
