hi
what do u think of girls and boys shaking hands as a greeting? i think there's nothing wrong with that. i think just saying hello is cold and bare from emotions especially with a good friend. so the question is why this rarely happens in our society and college? |

I think that my answer is expected to be like the following...In Islam it is forbidden to touch other gender (You know that any woman/man that can be suitable for marriage is included under this category) even when it is simple touch...I shall explain more if it is needed.

As for me i shake hands with anyone can handle shaking hands or who offers to shake mine. but for the sake of honsty i don't do it in college cause nobody do it and people infront of you won't be expecting you to shake hands with them .
because of religious causes ....actually i asked about that and in the past in our country shaking hands was more acceptable and it was something regular also i know that many people stopped doing it cause they were embarressed cause the other person refused to shake hands with them !!!!! when twisted minds twist simple things the outcome with be an odd response with a billion ugly thoughts behind and thus will make that simple act lose its true meaning and in such society or situation or at least such person not to shake hands might be the better choice. Well there is absolutely nothing wrong in shaking hand with a girl .. i do it .. but with close friends only whom we are connected through a channel of open-mindedness .. it always comes as a spontaneous thing .. it doesn't mean anything .. and it doesn't have to .. actually and ironically when there is sth "special" between two .. they tend not shake hands .. something to notice .. but not to state as a rule ..
I don't know if it is due to religious things it is rare .. and as i don't intend neither wish others to cross that line in here .. but come on .. isn't it a minor thing .. i mean we are already drifted from a lot of the originally stated things .. some are much much more important.. salam |

Why would the other person refuse to shake hands ??? unless he/she has a good reason for that. I'm totally with hand shaking , in fact I do it many times aday, cuz in special parties or in business I need to shake hands, but to be more frank and honest I dont offer it,cuz I'm afraid I would bother the opposite person, which may not be pleased if I throw my hand for shaking. But;if a hand offered for me to shake , I would shake it respectfully,I even sometimes in some special ocassions I bow in front of the ladies. You know we need to be gentles all the time. Buttom line : I'm completely with hand shaking for the sake of the professional and courtesy purposes ONLY and nothing else. PS : I completely agree with Zaid about the religious aspects, its religiously forbidden, and not as a matter of sick minds or something, its a matter of heaven, which is beyond our reach or questioning. Due Respects and regards. |
