I was called to my next door neighbour's house to check on the health of a woman who collapsed.

Of course, I was the newly graduated doctor living next-door and I should run to the rescue.

Found her lying on the sofa.

She looked like their servant.

Both the man and his mother were very concerned.

The "ill" woman was obviously mentally "hysterical" sobbing in tears.

Nothing physically wrong with her.

I told the man: "you need to ask your mum to give her a sick leave to go and rest at home - IJAZA. There is nothing really wrong with her and it is just a mental breakdown"

She turned out to be HIS WIFE!

He obviously looked very puzzled.

I actually was present in their wedding a few months earlier and should have known better.

Very embarrassing!

THIS IS VERY VERY FUNNY. IT IS TRUE AND HAPPENED TO ME:

I was 11 years old and on our first day of (Awal Mutawassit / first year intermediary school) in Al-Gharbiya Al-Mutawassita, they let us out of classes early as some of the teachers were not available on that hot September day.

My father was coming to pick me by car and did not know that I was let out early.

I sat in the shade of the school fence awaiting my dad, next to another boy who is obviously also waiting for a car to pick him up. He was about my age.

We did not know each other as it was still the first day of school.

I was hot and bored, so I wanted to start a conversation. I thought it was a good idea to start with bragging about how important my father was.

I told the boy about my father's job.

He nodded his head and stayed silent.

I expected him to join in the conversation as it was his turn to tell me what his father's job was. He didn't. He just looked away.

I thought that his father must be a very poor person. That should be why he was not saying anything.

I became increasingly curious. So, I decided to ask him directly: "what does your father do?"

He said, without looking at me:

"He works as a President!"

The boy was Ahmad, the son of Abdul-Salam Arif, the Iraqi President.

We both stayed silent for the next hour until we were picked!
